Activated Corundum (Alumina) is a highly porous and extremely effective fluoride reduction media. It is a ceramic material, essentially the same substance that natural rubies and sapphires are composed of in nature and is chemically inert (non-reactive), non-toxic, non-soluble and has been approved by the EPA for reduction of Fluoride in drinking water. The substance has been activated with a special process to possess adsorption activity and proper pore size to capture the fluoride ions.
The fluoride removal occurs when water contaminated with negatively charged ions (anions) such as Fluoride, Arsenic or Lithium comes in contact with the media, they are then attracted and attached to the Alumina and removed from the water.
Activated Alumina is currently one of the most effective ways to rid the water of upto 90% of active Fluoride.
This cartridge size is 9.75" Height x 3" Diameter.
