Note on Fluoride: Effective reduction requires about 0.5 gpm flow rate (shower runs at about 2.5gpm) and more media than a shower pipe can safely hold.

In addition, fluoride does not off-gas and skin uptake at normal tap pH is negligible, therefore its removal for the shower is virtually unnecessary, but can be filtered out from drinking water by our countertop/undercounter systems.

Note: Shower system is apx. 5 lbs when full as contains more filtration media than most other shower filters. Ensure your shower pipe is sturdy & secured w/ a flange check manual before ordering.

Shower filters are limited by weight and space since they attach to your shower pipe. We focused ours on the chemicals that matter most in a shower—especially ones that can turn into gas and get breathed into the bloodstream: chlorine, disinfection byproducts, and VOCs.

DESCRIPTION OF FILTRATION PHASES

PHASE 1: Primary Sediment

Inlet sediment filter catches particles and rust so the media lasts longer without hurting flow.

PHASE 2: De-chlorination

KDF-55® media converts free chlorine to harmless chloride. This extends the life of the carbon in the next phase so it can focus on other chemicals. Zinc in the media helps limit stagnation in the cartridge.

PHASE 3: Secondary Chemicals

Advanced catalytic-grade activated carbon (NSF42 certified, conforms to NSF61) assorbs chemicals and catalytic carbon does a much better job on harder chemicals like hydrogen sulfide (rotten-egg odor) than regular activated carbon.

PHASE 4: Secondary Sediment

Sediment filter at the output catches fines so carbon and KDF don’t leave the cartridge.

CARTRIDGE CHANGE SCHEDULE

Please note: We recommend replacing the PureShower™ cartridge more often than most other shower filter brands. Most companies base cartridge life only on chlorine (one of the easiest chemicals to remove). We also factor in other chemicals and contaminants, which gives a safer, more realistic replacement schedule.
