It has taken at least 10 months to figure out the problems I was having with very dry skin and hair which was driving me crazy were because of the increased amount of chlorine in the water supply, so much so that I can smell it. This filter was very easy and surprisingly quick to install. I noticed a difference in the water quality immediately. The bathroom no longer smelt like a chlorine sauna, and where previously I would have to slather on lotion which still wouldn't stop my skin from looking dry and flaky within an hour or so, within just 2 or 3 days of installing the filter my skin looked great even without lotion (and in the middle of winter in Maryland which is usually my worst time for dry skin). It's been about 4 weeks now and my skin is in better condition than it has been for years. Absolutely satisfied with this filter - it is an excellent solution for renters who can't install whole house filters. I've already purchased two replacement cartridges which are very reasonably priced, so I can switch them out according to the recommended schedule without delay (I also purchased the Ultra countertop filter system for my drinking water after seeing how well the shower filter worked and am very happy with that system as well). Now that I've experienced the difference in showering in clean filtered water, I never want to go back to showering in the local heavily chlorinated water....
